Painter Nguyễn Văn Bình (1917-2004, Hanoi). He graduated from the École Supérieure des Beaux Arts de l’Indochine year XII (the Indochina College of Fine Arts) and became a member in department Painting of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in 1957. During his practice, he spent time mostly on lacquer paintings. His works, which express truthful sentiments, are done meticulously in realism style, with the use of traditional techniques of lacquer paintings to describe and praise the beauty of our soldiers and people, in life and war, as well as in the subjects of Revolution, Resistance, daily life, and the landscapes of rural plains and mountain area.
