Nguyễn Minh Thành graduated from Vietnam University of Fine Arts. He is among the first artists from Hanoi to display their work internationally, significantly influencing the following generation of contemporary artists in Hanoi. His paintings, mainly in Chinese ink and watercolor on handmade Vietnamese dó paper, are unique for their meditative and spiritual explorations. Thành has participated in numerous exhibition, domestically and internationally, and has had his works included in public and private collections, including the National Art Gallery of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Japan, the World Bank Art Program, and Post Vidai collection of contemporary Vietnamese Art, Switzerland.
