Mifa

Mifa (b.1990) graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture in 2013, and is currently based in Da Nang, Vietnam. Since 2015, Mifa has focused on researching and experimenting with acrylic on traditional Vietnamese Diep paper, with many works contemplating on the harmony and conflict of Oriental identities in the era of globalization. with the desire to preserve and develop the folk spirit through the form of painting. Through her artistic practice, she studies and tries to reproduce the painting techniques of ancient Eastern civilizations such as cave painting, book decoration, gilding, calligraphy, watercolor, manual printing, paper binding ... combined with personal techniques inspired by Vietnamese lacquer art. Mifa has participated in many domestic exhibitions such as group exhibition at Sao La Art Space (Ho Chi Minh City, 2014), group exhibition of the No Cai Bum project (Da Lat, 2022), group exhibition of the MAP project organized by Heritage Space (Hanoi, 2022). “Diep” at Mo Art Space (Hanoi, 2021) is Mifa's first solo exhibition.
